Exactly what I needed.... effectively stops cold drafts from vents.

In the winter we shut down our central A/C and use hot water baseboards to heat the house. Despite closing the A/C vent louvers for the winter, there are a few cold spots and drafts around some of the vents and immediately below them in the rooms. I struggled to find a good solution --- that looked good too! Thrilled to find these insulated covers that are held on by strong magnets. Super easy to install, very effective.

Excellent product

The vent covers are very well designed. The magnets are very strong and do not even have to make full contact with the screw heads to hold the cover in place. However, the bigger the gap the less strong the grip. The company sells spacer magnets on their webpage that you may need. If you buy spacer magnets at lowes or home depot do not cheap out. Buy the ceramic disc ones by Magnet Source at a minimum. For fullest strength buy the Neodymium discs from Magnet Source instead. Again with these strong Neodymium ones you do not have to totally fill the gap. Mess around with them a bit to make it work. You will def want a stronger contact if you plan on using the cover in the summer to block off a vent with AC coming out of it.
The only drawback is the vents covers are a bit pricey, worth it but not cheap. And if you have to buy more quality magnets that will also add up. But I put 9 up in my house, two different sizes, and they fit perfect and sealed off 9 big draft points in minutes.

Perfect Solution

Looks good, fit fine. Just what I needed to close off a vent that we do not need in the heating season.

Time saving product that actually works well!!

After reading the reviews about this product, I wanted to wait until the end of summer to make sure I was totally happy with this. I changed out the screws and added a washer to give the magnets more area to connect to & I like that they're insulated. They snapped into place easily saving me a lot of time stuffing the vents with insulation. I like the fact that they were made in America and they are worth paying extra to keep Americans working. I highly recommend this product!!

Work Perfectly

These fit perfectly. I’m not sure what all the reviews stating that the magnets don’t hold are about - they fit snugly and the magnets hold just fine. Maybe those people have aluminum grills - which require a different model - and that’s why the magnets aren’t holding for them. They also look good - they basically blend in with the ceiling and are not obtrusive at all. The cold drafts are totally blocked and the rooms are significantly warmer now.
